Umrah prices from Egypt in October 2026 by level and room type, what is and is not included, how to compare programmes without hidden extras, and tips for Ramadan 2027.
Umrah price is one of the most searched questions in Egypt before travelling, and there is no single answer. A programme that looks cheaper may use a hotel far from the Haram or a five-person room, or may leave out the visa and transport. This guide sets out the prices advertised on the Egyptian market in October 2026, explains what each price usually includes, and gives you a comparison checklist so you know the real cost before you pay.
Approximate per-person ranges based on what Egyptian travel companies were advertising in October 2026; they vary with dates, room type and the exchange rate.

What pushes the price up or down?
Season: Ramadan, the Mawlid period and the mid-year school holidays are the most expensive; quieter months are cheaper. Distance to the Haram: a hotel on the plaza can cost several times more than one ten minutes’ walk away. Room type: quads and five-person rooms cost less per person than doubles. Number and split of nights: a 15-day programme is not necessarily better than 10 days in a closer hotel. Flights: direct flights into or out of Madinah save travel time but may cost more. Ramadan 2027 Umrah prices
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 8 February 2027, subject to the moon sighting. It is the most expensive season, especially the last ten nights. Book as early as you can, because hotels near the Haram sell out first and prices rise as the date approaches. Ask whether suhoor or iftar is included, since meals add up over a whole month. See our Ramadan Umrah 2027 programmes.
Agency programme or arranging it yourself?
A group programme is the most common route for pilgrims from Egypt because it bundles flights, hotels, transport and guidance into one price and handles the official paperwork for the trip. Arranging it yourself gives you freedom over hotels and dates, but you take on the visa, the bookings and transport between cities, and it is not always cheaper in peak season, because companies buy rooms and seats in bulk. Either way, add up the full cost: flights, plus the visa, plus hotels in Makkah and Madinah, plus airport and intercity transport, plus food and personal spending. Then compare that final figure with the all-in programme price. If this is your first Umrah, our guide on how to perform Umrah step by step walks you through each rite.
Eight ways to lower the cost of Umrah from Egypt
1. Travel outside peak seasons. 2. Choose a quad room if you are travelling as a family or group. 3. Ask for the real walking distance, not just “close to the Haram”. 4. Choose the number of nights you actually need. 5. Book early for Ramadan and holidays. 6. Compare the all-in price, not the headline figure. 7. Set a personal budget from the start for food, local transport and gifts. 8. Never save at the expense of safety: make sure the company is licensed and the contract is clear. Use our Umrah checklist and packing list so nothing is forgotten.
